I say “No” to night vigils on the 31st of December simply because that day has no spiritual nor religious significance in Islamic weltanschauung. In other words, there is no biblical passage that enjoins consecrating the night of the 31st of December for special worship. There are no traditions of the Prophet of Islamnor Āthār (milestones) of his followers in which this practice enjoy credence.
